Don't get caught up in a tax dispute - develop a tax dispute plan.

In Australia, many thousands of tax disputes arise each year. That's according Brett Young, a barrister (and chartered accountant) with Fifth Floor Selborne Chambers in Sydney. Brett specialises in tax disputes, appearing regularly for taxpayers in dispute with Federal and State courts, or with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Of the three broad types of tax disputes, Brett says the most common involves Part IVC tax disputes, which usually arise between a taxpayer and the Australian tax office, whereby the taxpayer seeks review of an objection decision. Brett says it's imperative that taxpayers are well prepared, with accurate and timely advice on hand; including the development of a Tax Dispute Plan.
