While the Senate has still yet to vote on changes to the company tax rate, where does that leave a lot of businesses?

According to tax expert Michael Jones, they are effectively in a tax 'twilight zone' and burdened by a lack of clarity. If the amendment is passed, some businesses may be caught in a changed tax rate from 27.5% to something higher.
